Article: Coughlin not surprised by Giant turnaround

Tom Coughlin's "work in progress" appears way ahead of schedule. For the past four weeks, the New York Giants have made steady progress, so much so that they head into their bye week with a 4-1 record on the strength of four straight victories. In fact, they've already matched their total number of wins from last season.

"I'm happy to be where we are," said Coughlin, the Giants' first- year coach, in the wake of Sunday's 26-10 win over the host Dallas Cowboys. "The things we are doing well is focusing, practicing hard, preparing hard and playing well.

"What we're trying to do is take it one game at a time and worry exclusively about that."
