People objecting to a planned controversial new public artwork in
Exeter have vowed to keep up the fight after a narrow council
decision to approve it.
Residents of Heavitree say they will complain to the Ombudsman
after the city's planning committee gave the green-light by one vote
to the creation of the free-standing sculpture.
Despite an overwhelming public backlash against proposals for the
installation - which is designed to be a focal point at one of the
city's gateways - councillors voted in favour of the structure.
Standing more than five metres high, the pounds70,000 sculpture
will be positioned next to the gable end of the Gun and Sports Shop
