A family yesterday paid tribute to their promising teenage
athlete daughter who died aged 13 of a rare form of cancer which
affects just one in a million people.
Jodie Hudson, an identical twin, excelled at horse riding and
athletics and was diagnosed when she fell ill after competing in a
cross-country event.
Doctors discovered she had rhabdomyosarcoma - an aggressive form
of cancer which affects fewer than 60 people a year in the UK.
The condition attacks the soft tissues in the head, neck, bladder
or abdomen and Jodie spent a year battling the disease.
She underwent surgery to remove a tumour but the cancer spread to
