Brookfield -- The Elmbrook Swim Club wants to build a new competition pool as an addition to Brookfield Central High School that could host major tournaments and expand community swim programs.

But the estimated cost ranging from $6 million to $8 million or more has club members weighing if it's the right time to launch a challenging fund-raising drive.

Elmbrook Schools Superintendent Matt Gibson said the pool would be a great facility, but it's not a district priority and a public- private partnership is unlikely.

"The district doesn't have any money to partner with the group, at least at this juncture," Gibson said.
