Silly wabbits.
I watched a family drama unfold in my backyard last week. Two
baby rabbits snuggled in safety under thick vinca off our patio,
fairly well hidden from predators but not from mama rabbit or my
family.
We're not sure if the baby rabbits didn't listen to mama rabbit
and consequently strayed from home, or if both little ones decided
to run away because mama was too strict on curfews. I personally
think they were playing a game of hide-and-go-seek gone bad and the
baby rabbits wandered too far from the asparagus patch they call
home.
My husband first spotted one baby hidden among the vinca near a
rose bush that flowers brilliantly once a year in late spring then
rests to do it all ...
