A Barton Town batsman achieved a very rare feat in the
Lincolnshire County Cricket League by scoring a double-century.
Gareth Mellors hit an unbeaten 201 for Barton 2nds in their
division three victory over Grimsby Town 3rds.
In the premier division, Alkborough stepped up their championship
challenge with a home win over Grimsby Town 2nds, and Skegness did
likewise by defeating Alford, whom they set the daunting target of
300 to win.
Horncastle's improved form continued with a handy win over
Hartsholme, and Cleethorpes 2nds saw off lowly Broughton.
In division one, Cherry Willingham's title bid was boosted by a
full points haul against Holton-le-Clay, Will Carter leading the way
