Braves all-star C Brian McCann left yesterday's game against the
Phillies with a mild concussion after Shane Victorino ran him over
in the sixth inning.
X-rays were negative and McCann will be re-evaluated today.
It appeared Victorino collided into McCann helmet to mask. McCann
stayed down for a couple minutes before walking off the field on his
own. There was no immediate word on McCann's injury.
Victorino scored on Ryan Howard's single to right field, jarring
the ball loose upon making impact.
It's the second time this season a Phillies player injured a
catcher with a collision at the plate. Cardinals C Yadier Molina
suffered a mild concussion after getting knocked over by Eric
Bruntlett ...
