Left Hand to be taken out to the ballgame: Minor league team invites entire Roane County town to park

Minor league baseball is filled with gimmicks and giveaways to draw fans to the ballpark. Anyone who's ever been to an Alley Cats game knows that much.

But the Richmond, Va., Braves just upped the ante to a whole new level.

They've invited the entire town of Left Hand to their ballpark as part of International Lefthanders Day on Aug. 13.

With hotel accommodations and free tickets to the game, the residents of the Roane County town will then watch postmaster Jerome Phifer throw out the first pitch.

Left-handed, of course.
