The housing market in Exeter is ready to bounce back, according to estate agents.

A report from the National Housing Federation forecasts that the current property slump will have ended by 2010 in the South West.

It predicts that prices will then rise by 25 per cent over the five years.

City estate agents say they agree with the federation's forecasts -- although further price falls are anticipated for the next year.

Richard Greetham, area director of Bradleys, said: "I firmly believe that the property market will be on the rise again soon. The current price decline is overdue. I think it will be a short, sharp charge.
