Editor's Note: John Isner, who has committed to play at the Pilot
Pen in New Haven in August, will file occasional postcards from the
road as the tournament draws closer. Hi, everyone. I'm back home in
Tampa, Fla. It was a long stint in Europe, but I'm glad to be home
after Wimbledon. I had a disappointing loss to Ernests Gulbis in the
first round, but it was a tough four-set match. He went on to play
eventual champion Rafael Nadal in the next round, and actually took
a set off of him, the only person to do so until Federer in the
final.
What an incredible match the final turned out to be. That was the
best match I have ever seen, and according to most people, the best
match in the history ...
