A cornish woman who helped to raise many thousands of pounds for Cornwall's Air Ambulance has died.

Angela Laity ran the Air Ambulance charity shop in Helston's Meneage Street for 15 years.

In that time she and her helpers and friends raised an estimated pounds300,000 for the charity, which operates solely on public subscription.

Helston's mayor Niall Devenish said: "Angela's work in raising that money will be a fitting tribute to her.

"Her thoughts were always for others, and my sympathies go out to her family."
