A cornish woman who helped to raise many thousands of pounds for
Cornwall's Air Ambulance has died.
Angela Laity ran the Air Ambulance charity shop in Helston's
Meneage Street for 15 years.
In that time she and her helpers and friends raised an estimated
pounds300,000 for the charity, which operates solely on public
subscription.
Helston's mayor Niall Devenish said: "Angela's work in raising
that money will be a fitting tribute to her.
"Her thoughts were always for others, and my sympathies go out to
her family."
Harold Chapman, chairman of the First Air Ambulance Trust, which
administers financing of the service, said Angela's death would be
"a real loss to us".
