DREW TOWNSON - SOUTH SHORE ENTREPRENEUR
ROCKLAND
Technology had been less than kind to Drew Townson's career. A
recording engineer by trade, the 48-year-old Rockland resident was
forced to turn to selling professional audio equipment when the
increased availability of digital recording equipment spurred a drop
in demand for recording engineers in the mid-1990s. Then, after a
decade as a salesman, Townson says he was fired last year for
starting a blog against his boss's wishes.
So it is perhaps fitting that Townson's latest venture - an
online analog recording equipment boutique called Analog Planet -
employs the latest in online marketing to sell equipment that hails
from a bygone era.
