Cruise-ins roll on despite tough times

BEAVERCREEK -- A metallic blue Ford with bright orange lightning bolts across the doors lumbered into the parking lot of the Kmart at 4480 Ripple Road in Beavercreek. The petite elderly couple in the front seat peered over the hood in search of an open parking spot.

The couple were joining dozens of other car aficionados who gather in the Kmart lot for the weekly Friday night cruise-in, a tradition that shows no sign of weakening despite high gas prices and a tough economy.
