Drug addict Daniel Hopkin has been jailed for six months after
breaching a community order he received for trying to burgle a city
post office.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard yesterday that on May 30 the 29-
year-old was given a 12 month community order with supervision and a
requirement he attended a substance abuse programme.
But Jabeen Akhtar, representing Staffordshire Probation Service,
told the court Hopkin's compliance with the order has been poor and
said the service wanted the order revoked and Hopkin re-sentenced
for the original offence.
That, the court was told, involved the defendant and another man
attempting to burgle Christchurch Post Office in Fenton on March 13.
