LAST week, along with many other foreign editors and journalists,
I received a booklet in the post entitled Reporters' Guide To
Covering The Beijing Olympics. It had been compiled and sent out by
the organisation Human Rights Watch.
On the contents page were listed Risks and Rights, Security,
Surveillance, and Safety, as well as The Great Firewall: Internet
Censorship in China.
From the outset, China's hosting of this great sporting occasion
has stirred controversy and brought protesters to the streets around
the world as the famous torch journeyed towards Beijing.
