Three Iraqi soldiers killed in Kirkuk's bomb attack

BAGHDAD, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Three Iraqi soldiers were killed and a fourth was injured when a roadside bomb hit their patrol near Iraq's northern city of Kirkuk on Friday, a local police source said.

The incident occurred in the morning when the bomb struck the soldiers' patrol in the al-Rashad area, some 30 km southwest of the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

One of the patrol's vehicles was completely destroyed by the blast, the source said, adding Iraqi security forces immediately sealed off the area to secure the scene and began to evacuate the casualties.
