Thousands of young people are working hard on summer holiday
projects to help their communities.
Youngsters have formed teams to take part in the Humberside
Police Lifestyle scheme.
Project co-ordinator Lisa Whitton said: "Teams have come up with
a fabulous array of project ideas.
"They include offering crime prevention and safety advice,
encouraging communities to be more environmentally aware and
organising events to celebrate 20 years of the Lifestyle project."
Anyone aged from 10 to 18 can form a team of up to five to tackle
a community project.
In the Southwood Road area of Cottingham, the Street Kids have
been tidying up a tenfoot that had become overgrown.
