SAN FRANCISCO -- Right-hander Tim Lincecum won't be the only
young Giants starting pitcher whose workload will be closely
monitored -- and possibly scaled back -- over the final eight weeks
of the season.
Left-hander Jonathan Sanchez has pitched 123 innings entering
tonight's start against the Atlanta Braves, 22/3 innings shy
of his career high set three years ago when he was at Class-A
Augusta. He pitched 752/3 innings last season when he
shuffled between the bullpen and the rotation.
Manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that he will huddle with general
manager Brian Sabean and pitching coach Dave Righetti this week to
discuss how to use Sanchez down the stretch.
