Furutani returns Chevron Oil check

The campaign of Assemblyman Warren Furutani returned a $1,000 check from Chevron Corp. on June 9, according to records released by his campaign manager.

Furutani who attacked his primary opponent for accepting contributions from "oil company polluters," has pledged not to take money from oil companies.

But two checks from ConocoPhillips and Chevron have found their way into Furutani's campaign accounts since the election.

The first, a $1,000 contribution from ConocoPhillips, was returned after Furutani was asked about it by the Daily Breeze.
