Annie G., Pewaukee, requested the recipe for a macaroni and
cheese from the cafe at the Pfister Hotel. She wrote: "I graduated
from Wisconsin Lutheran College in May 2005 and have since tried to
pick up some crafty culinary skills for my husband and me.
"Like a typical college student, I ate a lot of mac 'n' cheese
and other microwavable foods. When I journeyed to downtown Milwaukee
and ate at the cafe at the Pfister, I was surprised to see mac 'n'
cheese on the menu -- with, of course, a new twist.
"At first, I was reluctant to order the item. After all, it was a
staple in my kitchen during college. But after seeing its
