The trust that runs Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill and Prince
Royal hospitals had to call in pest control teams almost 900 times
in just over two years, making it the second-worst trust for
infestations in the country, according to figures released today.
Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust called in help for
pests 898 times between January 2006 and April this year.
The findings were unveiled today by the Conservatives who
obtained the figures under the Freedom of Information Act.
Pauline Lewin, director of facilities for the trust, said: "In
the interests of patient safety we will often err on the side of
