North Lincolnshire's reputation as a recycling hot spot has
spread as far as Malawi - and the council is hoping for a summer
boost to its green credentials.
A plaque has been placed in African country of Malawi to
recognise the efforts of North Lincolnshire residents in recycling
aluminum cans.
Since last year, the council has been working with recycling firm
Alupro to swap cans for trees in the country.
Since it signed up to the Fruit Trees for Malawi initiative last
year, North Lincolnshire Council has recycled enough cans for 139
trees.
As the weather heats up through August, North Lincolnshire
Council is hoping residents will help contribute by recycling their
cans through the green ...
