Outcasts powered their way back to the top of the third division
with a crushing 173-run victory over title rivals Roses Leisure at
Hirst Priory.
Earlier this season Roses had bowled their opponents out for just
27 and Andy Lawson blasted an excellent 108 to help avenge that
torrid performance for Outcasts, hitting seven sixes along the way.
Openers Jamie Belton (45) and Tom Whitton (40) put on 70 to make
a mockery of Roses' decision to put the Isle side into bat first and
there was no looking back for Outcasts on their way to 255 for four.
The bowlers were also on top form as Roses were bowled out for
just 82, with Craig McAnaney celebrating becoming a father with an
excellent 4 for 11 haul.
