We're very proud and very pleased," Nat Robinson, state elections
administrator, said this week in announcing that the state's voter
registration system is fully functional and complies with federal
election law. "It's a good day for Wisconsin."
Right, but this "good day" was preceded by a delay of more than
two years for the state to comply with the federal election law,
making us one of the last states to do so. It comes not a day too
soon, as evidenced by the disclosure this week that at least six
voter registration workers apparently tried to add dead, imprisoned
or imaginary people to the voter rolls in Milwaukee.
