Local & state: Friends is top pick in KCAC football
Friends was the overwhelming favorite to win the Kansas
Conference football title in the coaches poll announced at the
conference media day Friday in Salina.
Friends received nine of 10 first-place votes -- Falcons coach
Monty Lewis could not vote for his own team -- and 99 total points.
Bethel got Lewis' vote for first place and 87 points. Friends and
Bethel tied for first place in the KCAC last season with 8-1
records.
Rounding out the poll were Sterling with 72 points, Kansas
Wesleyan (71), Bethany (55), Ottawa (48), McPherson (47),
Southwestern (33), Saint Mary (20) and Tabor (18).
