CHICAGO - Troy Glaus was hitless this season against the Chicago
Cubs. Nothing to show in 30 at-bats. Then with two swings Saturday,
the big slump disappeared.
Glaus hit two of the St. Louis Cardinals' four homers off Carlos
Zambrano to lead a 12-3 thumping of the Cubs.
Skip Schumaker and Albert Pujols also connected off the Cubs'
ace, who was driven out after 4 1-3 innings.
"It's the hardest I've ever seen him get hit. That never happens,
it really doesn't," Schumaker said. "It was one of those fluke type
things."
Zambrano gave up nine runs and 10 hits in his short outing. The
four homers allowed by Zambrano were a career high, while the nine
runs tied the most he'd ever given up.
