Emergency services have warned that lives were put at risk by an
arsonist who started a series of fires in the early hours of the
morning.
City firefighters were forced to spend precious time putting out
a number of small fires which are understood to have been started
deliberately.
Three bins and a garden shed were set alight in the St Thomas
area of the city in the early hours of the morning.
The route taken by the firestarter ran along Church Road, Tin
Lane, Old Vicarage Road and Powderham Road.
The blazes were extinguished before they spread, and no one was
injured. But 999 crews condemned the reckless actions of the
arsonist.
