Myanmar PM leaves for Beijing Olympic Games
YANGON, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar Prime Minister General Thein
Sein left here Thursday afternoon for Beijing to attend the opening
ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games slated for Friday.
A 18-member Myanmar sports delegation, including Myanmar Olympic
Committee (MOC) Chairman and Minister of Sports Brigadier- General
Thura Aye Myint and six athletes also took the same flight.
The Myanmar athletes are to compete in five sports events --
track and field, swimming, archery, rowing and canoeing/kayat -- in
the 29th Beijing Olympic Games which will run from Aug. 8 to 24.
