Article: Ex-juror charged with taking bribes: Drug case acquittal led to resignation of Florida prosecutor

MIAMI - When two reputed drug kingpins were acquitted despite what authorities considered overwhelming evidence, it left prosecutors stunned and confused.

Two years later, investigators now say they have an explanation for the verdict - $500,000 in bribes allegedly paid to the jury foreman. Tip-offs included a Cadillac, a Rolex, a house and a boat that authorities say Miguel D. Moya purchased with the money.

Moya, 35, was indicted Tuesday on six counts of bribery, obstruction of justice and conspiracy. He is in federal custody and has pleaded innocent to the charges.
