An appeal of an election recount in Johnson County, Mo., might
not have made a difference in that dispute, but it could guide a
recount request in the Democratic primary for attorney general.
Margaret Donnelly announced Friday that she will ask for a
recount in the race that she lost Aug. 5 by the slimmest of margins -
- two-tenths of 1 percent.
"The law is there for a reason," she said in an interview,
referring to the state law that allows a recount if the vote totals
differ by less than 1 percent. "It's there to be sure that the
voting process is protected and that we're as certain as we can be
that every vote is counted."
Donnelly lost by about 780 votes to Chris Koster, a state senator ...
