No peacetime decade of the 20th century was more exciting than
the 1960s. In keeping with the bold, radical and experimental spirit
of that era, young theatre company Creative Cow is presenting four
epoch-defining plays from the period at the New Theatre.
The plays should serve as a welcome reminder of the post-war
theatrical renaissance while also providing comedy and drama.
The Private Ear and The Public Eye are being shown as a double
bill. Written in 1962, both are early works from acclaimed
playwright Peter Shaffer, now best known for penning Mozart drama
Amadeus and the controversial Equus, which was revived recently with
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe on the London stage.
