The prime suspect in the hunt for the killer of schoolgirl
Genette Tate, who vanished 30 years ago today, will not face
charges.
Prosecutors say there is "insufficient evidence" to take
convicted child killer Robert Black to court.
Genette's 66-year-old father John Tate, who is terminally ill
with prostate cancer, was told about the decision yesterday and said
it was a "heartbreaking" blow.
The 13-year-old Express & Echo delivery girl, known as Ginny to
her family, vanished from her home village of Aylesbeare on August
19, 1978.
Her body has never been found and Black has been the central
focus of a 30-year-old police investigation into her disappearance.
