ANTRIM - Barbara Robertson Hardwick, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 9,
2008, at home.
She was born at 35 Grove St. in Peterborough, six months before
the hospital was in operation.
Barbara attended the Peterborough school system and graduated
with the Class of 1941. After graduating from high school, she
entered the nursing program at New Hampshire Memorial Hospital in
Concord and graduated from the school of nursing in 1944 as a
registered nurse.
As World War II was winding down and the wounded were being
returned to the United States by the thousands, an urgent request
for nurses was issued. Barbara answered the call and served until ...
