Lebanon declares day of mourning for Tripoli blast victims

BEIRUT, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora declared a day of mourning on Thursday across the country in honor of 17 people killed and some 40 others wounded in a blast in the northern city of Tripoli, local Naharnet website reported.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese higher defense council is expected to meet later Thursday to take action against terrorist attacks, the report added.
