Thelma Middlehurst has received her certificate and badge of
thanks from the Government in recognition of her hard work as a Land
Army girl during the Second World War.
Thelma received the items, signed by Prime Minister Gordon Brown,
from the retired Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Rev Richard Hawkins, at
Barton Place Nursing Home, where Thelma now lives.
The staff, residents and invited guests gathered in the home for
a celebration coffee morning.
