THERE are two glaring conceptual flaws at the heart of Dangerous Jobs For Girls. The first is: why would anyone, regardless of gender, want to prove themselves adept at these dangerous, unpleasant occupations unless they really had no choice?

And also: surely the programme would work better if the three untrained British women were competing against three untrained British men? That way we could compare how successfully the different genders adapt to challenging new skills? Otherwise, as was the case in last night's final episode, it's just a pointless study of earnest women trying but inevitably failing to prove themselves alongside ...
