Every relationship has its milestones by which its principals
measure progress -- kids, jobs, moves, anniversaries. Ashley
Bennett of Conroe, Tex., measures her marriage to Kyle by the
injuries. She rattles them off: the torn ACL, the torn meniscus, the
broken collarbones. She stood by her man, her BMX rider, when he
decided to try to jump that ditch he'd been eyeballing since high
school, and came up short. That was the broken foot. He rode through
that one.
But then the Olympics happened to BMX, and little baby Kylie
