More unemployed South Koreans quit job-hunting

SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Depressed job markets affected by slumping economic conditions are driving greater number of unemployed people in South Korea to give up job hunting, Korea Herald reported Wednesday.

According to the National Statistical Office (NSO), the number of people who quit finding jobs jumped 15.5 percent from a year ago to approximately 120,000 individuals.

Since last February, when the number of unemployed who gave up on job-seeking had grown by 3,000, the figure had been falling for 13 month until April this year, the NSO said.
