Controversial parking fines in Bishop's Cleeve could soon be a
thing of the past.
The hope follows a public meeting to discuss several issues,
especially the need to clarify parking restrictions in Church Road,
where people have incurred fines in recent months.
The main talking point revolved around three loading bays, where
shoppers thought they were permitted because they couldn't see the
restriction signs.
Peter Badham, who owns a chemist's in Church Road, said:
"Shoppers have been racking up exorbitant fines because there is a
lack of clear instruction.
"Since February, more than 60 people have fallen into the trap,
through no fault of their own, and had to pay pounds35 as a
consequence. ...
