CHEYENNE - The results of a ballot recount on Thursday afternoon
means that candidate Jeff Goins will move ahead as a finalist for
the two open seats in Cheyenne City Council Ward 2.
After Tuesday's primary election, Goins and his opponent, Dennis
Rafferty, were separated by a mere four votes. Goins had 910 to
Rafferty's 906.
After the recount, Goins gained one vote and Rafferty lost one,
making the final tally 911 to 905.
That means on Nov. 4, Cheyenne voters living north of Dell Range
Boulevard will pick two from the field of Goins, Sarah Landstrom,
two-term incumbent Patrick Collins and Mayor Jack Spiker.
