A mother of two faces being imprisoned for 10 days without trial
in China for taking part in a Free Tibet demonstration at the
Olympics.
The Foreign Office has confirmed Amanda McKeown, from Bristol,
was one of four activists detained by police outside the National
Stadium in the early hours of Thursday and will be deported on
August 31.
The other three, a German of Tibetan ethnic origin and two
Americans, had raised their fists and unfurled a Tibetan flag
shouting "Free Tibet" while Ms McKeown, 41, shot a video of the
protest.
They were watched by up to 50 plain-clothed police before they
were arrested, according to the Students for a Free Tibet group.
