Prolong the season by making the most of your garden - that's
what the Jesson family, of Ilkeston, always do
There are some people who expect the sun to be cracking the
slates before they dare remove their thermals to venture outside.
But others wear shorts from March till October and say "What
typhoon?" as they put a match to the barbecue in a force 10 gale.
These people are like Tina Jesson and her family who, even as
most start to feel a nip of a season change in the air, are keen to
insist that September is not the start of autumn but the welcome
start of an Indian summer.
