State police Sgt. Tom O'Connor is in the fight of his life.
The 41-year-old married father of two is battling an aggressive
form of cancer that has spread throughout his body. Last year,
complications from surgery after his first bout with cancer left him
blind. And O'Connor, a 17-year veteran of the state police in
Greensburg, has used up his sick leave and is navigating the process
of obtaining a disability pension.
O'Connor and his wife, Jennifer, are running out of money.
Jennifer O'Connor works part time as a nurse in the labor and
delivery unit of Magee-Womens Hospital in Oakland but can't fit in
