HUNTINGTON (AP) - There is room at the Inn but none in the dorms
for about 100 Marshall University students who reported to campus for
fall semester this past weekend.
Aggressive recruiting of new students has led to a shortage of
dormitory space at the university, which has admitted more than 4,500
freshmen and transfer students this year, compared with 3,992 last
year.
As a result, about 100 students will be staying at the Uptowner
Inn a few blocks from campus, according to John Winters, assistant
communications director for the university.
Despite amenities like a pool and weight room that no Marshall
dormitory can claim, students staying at the hotel will not pay
anything extra to stay ...
