COLTON - Patricia Pierce wants to fight high gas prices and do
her part to go green and reduce pollution.
She's part of what could become a growing trend - using an
electric golf cart to navigate city streets.
"When people see me parked, they come to me and say, 'This is the
best idea,"' Pierce said. "I'm trying to go green - Colton needs to
go green."
Pierce began using the cart to navigate Colton's streets in July.
High gas prices were her main motivation.
"I drive a big (Chevrolet) Blazer and gas was just too high," she
said. "Gas prices and the economy sparked the idea."
But soon after she began using the cart, she was stopped by
police while driving home from the Colton Civic ...
