American volunteers teach English in Madagascar

ANTANANARIVO, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Twenty five Americans have begun their two-year career of English-teaching in different areas of Madagascar following their ten-week course of learning of the local language, Malagasy.

Volunteers from American Peace Corps, who arrived in the Indian Ocean island country last June, are scheduled to work for two years in five selected areas over the country which started on Friday, according to Les Nouvelles, a French-language daily, published on Saturday.
