Zambia mourns death of President Mwanawasa
LUSAKA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Zambia has mourned the death of
President Levy Mwanawasa by holding various activities.
Zambian first president Kenneth Kaunda signed the condolences
book at the State House Friday morning, saying he knows that
President Levy Mwanawasa is under the care of God and that his soul
is asking for God to look after Zambians, according to Saturday
Post.
Kaunda wrote: "Lord and God Almighty, we know Levy is under your
care and we know his soul is asking you Lord to look after us in
Zambia. We also know you have responded for us." And former
president Frederick Chiluba said Mwanawasa's death is a cruel
reality.
