THE Government has been accused of creating a teenage time-bomb
by neglecting young people?s health.
The Conservative Party has warned that the number of teenagers
being admitted to hospital for alcohol or smoking-related problems
has soared in England since 2000.
And the North-East is experiencing more difficulties in almost
every health sector than youngsters in the rest of the country.
With the 2012 London Olympics only four years away, the health of
young people is being drawn sharply into focus.
The Labour Government has vowed to boost competitive sporting
activity in and out of school time to try to create a new generation
of Olympic athletes.
But the Tories say it could be too late ...
