The way Moe Townson has it figured, it's an even match.
Cabell Midland has lost 21 of 23 starters from last year's playoff
team. Townson's Capital team, by his own estimation, has missed the
equivalent of 11 practices.
So the sides should be equal for tonight's opener between the
teams at Laidley Field. The 7:30 kickoff will mark the first game on
Laidley's new artificial turf.
"We're just tickled to death to get on it," Townson said.
Installation of the turf, after all, prevented the Cougars from
practicing at Laidley until this week. Their workouts had been
shipped to Cabell Field, where they had to share the premises with
two other teams. That meant cramming drills ...
