East Petersburg Fire Company No.1 received the Pennsylvania Rescue Service of the Year Award Aug. 15 at the 31st annual PA EMS conference in Grantville.

Presented by the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council, the award honors a rescue service for community-oriented activities, consistent rapid response times, an emphasis on training, education and professional development and a level of cooperation with surrounding public safety organizations.
